Detoxing after an MRI, anesthesia and contrast dye

Detoxing after an MRI, anesthesia, and contrast dye.

When you get MRIs as often as my kids do (every 3-6 months) detoxing is a must.

Why is it important to detox after an MRI with contrast? The contrast dye (Gadolinium) is a toxic metal that is used as a contrast medium to visualize the body tissues better during an MRI scan.  Gadolinium is injected into the body before the scan.  It causes the MRI scanner to highlight certain body structures better than if the MRI is done without the gadolinium contrast medium.

The best way to avoid toxicity from contrast dye is to make sure to drink plenty of water 24 hours prior to getting an MRI. That way your kidneys are able to flush out the dye much faster. Doing a liver and kidney cleanse is beneficial as well.

Drinking plenty of water before and after the MRI is important too. I add chlorophyll to my kid’s water to boost the oxygen in their body as well as their hemoglobin.

-More Benefits of chlorophyll:

  • stimulating the immune system
  • eliminating fungus in the body
  • detoxifying your blood
  • cleaning your intestines
  • getting rid of bad odors
  • energizing the body
  • may help to prevent cancer

Detox Baths are a great way to flush unnecessary toxins from your body. All you need is:

The things above are simple small things you can do to help cleanse and repair your body after contrast dye, I found this has worked best for us and I hope that it can help you too!
