Remineralizing natural tooth powder recipe

Re-mineralizing natural tooth powder recipe

I started using organic natural toothpaste several years ago and not only did it get expensive, but I didn’t feel like I was getting the good enough clean feeling I was looking for. My oldest son was also starting to develop small cavities and I started researching not to heal cavities naturally. I stumbled upon a few different articles, that suggested diet change, and different toothpaste recipes.

The diet wasn’t a problem as we were already eating clean and limiting sugars. I first tried didn’t toothpaste recipes which were similar to this one minus some ingredients that also included coconut oil. But to be honest my family was not a huge fan of the paste. It got too messy and the kids wasted too much paste.

So after a couple of different recipes, this is the one I came up with, and works extremely well for my family. Everyone gets their own jar and keeps this clean and sanitary that way.

In the recipe, I used several different essential oils (which of course are optional, but I find them extremely beneficial, and also have a great taste, as baking soda is a little salty)

Ingredients:

3 Tablespoons Baking soda

1 Tablespoon Bentonite clay

1 Tablespoon Diatomaceous earth (food grade)

2 capsules of Activated charcoal (helps remove stains from teeth)

5 capsules of Calcium/magnesium

15 drops Peppermint essential oil (for freshness and taste)

15 drops Wintergreen essential oil (for freshness and taste)

10 drops Clove essential oil (help to prevent and heal first signs of cavities)

10 Drops Wild Orange essential oil (helps to whiten teeth)

5 drops Melaleuca essential oil (helps prevent cavities)

*Essential oils are optional and you may use whichever ones you would like, I found these were most beneficial.

Directions:

Add all ingredients except for essential oils into a glass jar. Close the jar and shake vigorously until all ingredients are mixed together and the powder has a grey color. Open the jar and add essential oils, close the jar and shake until essential oil are well combined with tooth powder.

*I like to leave the lid closed for at least 10 minutes before first use, this allows the tooth powder to be infused with the essential oils.
